The edge of the northern fortresses. Tsirkuny - Tishki - Liptsy

Bus and pedestrian route for those who are interested in the history of Slobozhanshchyna, namely: the construction of the Ukrainian defensive line, fortresses, temples, as well as the history of the Second World War and fighting places near Kharkov.

Lipzy. Liptsy is a former military settlement of the Kharkov province, founded in 1655 by Cossacks from the army of B. Khmelnitsky who arrived in Slobozhanshchina. On the territory of Liptsev, a hundred of the Kharkov regiment was based, defending the northern borders of the region from the devastating raids of the Crimean Tatars. In the village, wooden and earth fortifications were built, the remains of which can be seen. The site of the Trinity Fair, which has been in operation since the XNUMXth century, is also preserved in the village park.

The Church of the Nativity and the monument to the outstanding teacher of Kharkiv region P. Shchepkina, the place of the traveling palace of Empress Catherine II, the preserved posting fortress building (1873 g).

In the Kharkiv region, there is a complex of the longest anthropogenic caves dating back to the early eighteenth century (the total length of the passages is 900 meters). The stone extracted from the caves was used for the paving of the old Moscow tract, the construction of which continued throughout the XNUMXth century.
