The Museum of Historical Treasures of Ukraine - a branch of the National Museum of the History of Ukraine - is located on the territory of the historical and cultural reserve "Kiev-Pechersk Lavra".
Most of the collections of the Museum are archaeological finds found during excavations of ancient mounds of Cimmerians, Scythians, Sarmatians - peoples who lived in the territory of modern Ukraine for more than a thousand years - from the ІX century. BC. before the IV century. AD, and played a significant role in world history.
The collection of jewelry of ancient masters of Northern Black Sea region VII-V centuries is widely represented in the museum. BC.
In the windows of the museum you can see precious ornaments belonging to the Turkic-speaking peoples - Huns, Avars, Pechenegs, Polovtsians, Mongol-Tatars.
Of considerable interest are the products of East Slavic jewelers of the 6th-8th centuries. and masters of Kievan Rus of the IX-XIII centuries.
A significant part of the Museum's collections are the works of Ukrainian, Central Asian, Caucasian and West European jewelers of the 16th-20th centuries. There is also a unique collection of Jewish cult art.
