Kharkov Airport

Currently, the airport "Kharkiv" is one of the most important airports in Ukraine. The throughput is over 1600 pass / hour, and the planned passenger capacity is 800 thousand people per year, although it is worth noting that the whole year at the peak of congestion the airport will be able to receive 2 million people per year.

The airport's area is more than 20 thousand square meters. It consists of three terminals. The main (new) terminal is divided into two parts (for domestic and international flights) and a VIP terminal (reconstructed old), hangar for private planes. The only runway reaches almost 2,5 km, which allows the airport to receive and send all medium-average aircraft.

Equipped with many restaurants and shops, including Duty Free, and other additional services. The terminal has a large parking lot. Kharkov's airport has the only modern baggage handling system (BHS) in Ukraine with a capacity of 960 luggage / hour for international flights and 600 luggage / hour for domestic flights. A distinctive feature of BHS is mobility, which implies the ability to expand, create additional registration points, arrival terminals. The leading operator of information and telecommunications solutions for the SITA aviation industry is responsible for the delivery and full integration of information technology solutions in the main (new) terminal.

The main terminal is equipped with the necessary number of channels for the passage of border and customs services, control of aviation security, and facilities for the convenient movement of persons with disabilities along the terminal. Since 1 December 2010 ground service is handled by the Swiss company Swissport (also serves the airport of Boryspil). The company deals with the registration of passengers, transfer of buses to the aircraft, providing ladders, alignment and control of aircraft loading. In 2011, the airport is equipped with three teletraps (often using the word "sleeve") and a new dispatch tower, the most modern in Ukraine. It should also be noted that currently there are only teletraps in Ukraine in the terminal B of the Borispol airport.
